Proxio - Denago Cart Ignition

Meet Proxio
 
Denago gave you a swipe card to start your cart. I got tired of digging mine out, so I built the ignition it should have shipped with.
 
Proxio turns your phone into the key. Walk up, tap the dash button, drive away. Walk off with your phone and it locks itself behind you.
 
It connects through a piggyback harness that plugs into the factory wiring. Nothing gets cut, nothing gets spliced, and your swipe card still works exactly like it did before. If you ever sell the cart, unplug Proxio and it's stock again in five minutes.
 
You set it up how you want it. How close your phone needs to be, how long it waits before locking, what the light and sounds do. It's all in a web app that runs right on the board, so you enroll phones and change settings from whatever device is in your pocket. No account, no subscription, no cloud.
 
Now the part I care most about: it will not shut off while you're moving. Ever.
 
There's a separate hardware circuit with a motion sensor that physically blocks shutdown until the cart is standing still. Not software, not a setting. A circuit. Your phone can die, the app can crash, and the cart keeps rolling until you stop. And since the swipe card still works, a dead phone never leaves you pushing a cart home.
 
Some smaller things you end up loving: leave the cart on and it shuts itself down after a while. Glance at the dash LED and the color tells you exactly what state it's in.
 
The whole thing runs on a board I had built for this cart and nothing else. It's not a relay kit or some generic Bluetooth module zip-tied under the dash. Every part on that board is there because this job needed it.
 
And the board is ready for more than the Denago. It already handles any 12 volt vehicle, so boats and side by sides are coming next, along with a CAN bus connection that opens the door to the deeper stuff, reading what the vehicle knows about itself and acting on it.
